Paul V. Opperman, 37, died June 6, 2006 in Hillsboro in an auto accident.
A memorial service is planned at noon today at Fir Lawn Mortuary, 1070 W. Main St. in Hillsboro. Graveside services for Mr. Opperman, who loved to fish, hunt and camp every year in the Blue Mountains near La Grande and has many friends and family here, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Prairie City Cemetery.
Mr. Opperman was born Jan. 2, 1969 in Ontario. He graduated from high school in Prairie City in 1987.
He attended Western Oregon Sate College and worked at the Royal Moore Auto Center for the past 12 years.
He will be remembered for his big heart, generosity and concern for others. He enjoyed sports, nature, fishing, local history, Native American history and truth.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Sharon and Keith Kennedy; his father and stepmother, Paul David and Linda Opperman; siblings and their spouses, David and Melissa Opperman, and Mark and Robin Opperman, Nina and Ron Press, and Joy and Ron McCall; and other relatives.
