Paul 'Wayne' Holcomb, age 77, of Elgin, died November 29, 2015 at the home of his daughter, surrounded by family. At this time no services are planned. Wayne was born on January 8, 1938, the son of Paul and Eva (Sharp) Holcomb in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was educated in The Dalles, Oregon. He was married to Merilyn Mitchell until her death in 1991. In 1995 he married Kathleen Wood in Reno, Nevada. The marriage later ended in divorce. He worked as a logger and later for the Friedman Bag Company in Portland. He then worked for the AGC in Portland for 10 years before retiring. He moved to Elgin 5 years ago to be near family. He loved woodworking, carving, fishing and drives in the mountains. He was very active with his children and grandchildren in all the sports they were involved in. He loved working on small engines and rebuilding them. He was known for taking lawn mower engines and building go-carts. He absolutely loved bon fire camping along with his quads her loved to ride.
Survivors include his children from his first marriage, Sheryl Kraxberger of Canby, Stacy Holcomb of Portland, Sandy Kirpes of Clarkston,; children from his second marriage, Heather McKenna of Portland, Autumn Wood of Elgin, Charles McKenna of Portland and Ronnie McKenna of Virginia; 15 grandchildren and another on the way; three great grandchildren; sister, Yvonne Holcomb of The Dalles; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. brother, George Holcomb and a son, Stanley Holcomb.
