Paul Edward Gorham

December 16, 1928 — May 3, 2006

Paul Edward Gorham, age 77, of Pendleton died May 3, 2006 at St. Anthony Hospital. Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Inurnment services will follow at the Cove Cemetery with Masonic service preformed in Cove at 1:30 p.m. After inurnment there will be a brunch at the Cove Lodge.

Mr. Gorham was born December 16, 1928 in Cove to Henry Oscar and Violet May Bloom Gorham. He attended school in Cove until he graduated and joined the Army Air Force at 17. He became a meteorologist with the Air Force. After being honorably discharged from the service, Mr. Gorham attended and graduated from Eastern Oregon University in La Grande with a master's degree in education.

On November 10, 1948 he married Lois Aloha Simmons of Cove. She died December 21, 1972. In February 1975 he married Carol Faye Cave in Pendleton. They divorced in 2003.

Mr. Gorham taught school for 34 years before retiring and he worked for the Department of Agriculture mostly during the summer months for many years. Mr. Gorham participated in the work of the Masonic Lodge. He was a 50-year life member of the Cove AF&AM Lodge 91, a life member in the Pendleton AF&AM 52, 33 degree member in the Scottish Rite in Pendleton and Baker Valley, past president of Al Kader in Pendleton and Hermiston and a member of the Royal Order of Scotland and the Red Cross of Constantine. He was a member of Hermiston #138, Cove #91 Union and Pendleton #52.

Survivors include his sons, Craig and Greg, both of Hermiston and daughter, Paula Gorham of Madison, Wisconsin; sister, Ardith Gorham Towle of Cove; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
