Patricia Rae Horn

Patricia Rae Horn, age 72, of Elgin, died September 5th at her home with her family by her side. A funeral will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elgin Methodist Church. Committal and interment will follow at the Elgin Cemetery.

Pat was born Patricia Rae Ireland on May 23, 1938 in Hood River, Oregon, the daughter of Willard "Mike" and Edith (Hawthorn) Ireland. She married Glenn A. Horn on January 2nd 1954 in Elgin where they spent most of their married life. Pat devoted most of her life to caring for what she considered her most prized possession, her family. From sewing new school clothes for the children to wear when away from home to knitting and crocheting afghans and quilting blankets to keep them warm when they were at home. She devoted many hours to see to their comforts and needs. She continues to be loved and shall be missed by family and friends.

Pat is survived by loving and devoted husband, Glenn of Elgin; daughters, Teri Craig of Coos Bay and Mellissa Archer of Pendleton; sons, Jim Horn of Minam, Steve Horn of Mt. Vernon, Tim Horn of Meridian, Idaho and Cory Horn of Hermiston; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; sister, Charlene Harman and Phyllis Halstad and brother, Bill Ireland and other relatives and friends.

Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Pat to the Oregon Cancer Society in care of Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande.
