Orma Legore

June 27, 1925 — August 2, 2010

Orma LeGore, 85, of Redmond and formerly of La Grande, died Aug. 2 at her home. Her graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Summerville Cemetery.

Orma was born June 27, 1925, to Charles Wilber and Rosetta (Campbell) Schooler at Hagerman, Idaho. She was 4 years old when her family moved to La Grande. She lived in La Grande until a few months ago when she moved to Redmond to be near her granddaughter. Orma attended high school in La Grande and then worked to help support the family.

On Oct. 10, 1942, she married Max W. LeGore in Weiser, Idaho.

Orma was active in the community. She worked as a sales clerk in several of the old stores that are no longer in La Grande.

She was an artist and a member of the American Artist Society. Her oil paintings were always awarded the blue ribbon at the county fair. She excelled at crafts and enjoyed making dolls and doll lamps. She was a member of the Nazarene Church of La Grande and was one of their most able volunteers. She was known to open her home to family members when they were in need.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith "Bobbi" Smith of Elgin; two grandsons; one granddaughter; four great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1991; son, Michael D. LeGore who died in 2005; her parents; brothers, Charles Schooler, Joseph Schooler, Johnny Schooler, Thomas Schooler; and sisters, Wanda Hogue and Mary Etta Rundell.
