Oneta Louise Olp

August 8, 1924 — May 26, 2011

Oneta Louise Olp, 86, of La Grande, died May 26 at home with family by her side. Her funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in La Grande. Burial will be at the Hillcrest East Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will run from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Loveland Funeral Chapel.

Louise was born Aug. 8, 1924, to William Sherman and Mary Francis (Kenion) Paschal in Wyola, Ark. She moved to Baker at the age of 18. On Sept. 24, 1950, she married Walter R. Olp. Louise was employed as a nurse's aide in her younger years, but spent the rest of her life caring for her husband and family.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, going to yard sales and fishing. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Louise is survived by her husband, Walter; her children and their spouses, Elaine Olp of La Grande, Donna and Michael Shields of La Grande, Carolyn and Lindsey Pierce of Summerville, Theresa and Scott Arnson of La Grande and Lisa Keiser of Vancouver, Wash.; sister and her spouse, Jimmi and Laurence Watkins of Sparks, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and six sisters.
