Noreen Elizabeth Sana

Noreen Elizabeth Sana, 89, of Bend and formerly of La Grande, died June 30 in Bend. A Mass of Christian burial was held at 1 p.m. today at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in La Grande. Burial will be at Hillcrest East Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends was held July 5.

Noreen was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Pendleton, daughter of Arthur and Della (Wall) Berry.

She was first married to Alex Nagy, who died June 22, 1962. Her second marriage was to Paul Sana, who died March 3, 2003. Noreen was employed as a cook at a hospital in Alaska.

Her favorite activities were playing cards, going to the senior center and spending time with her family. Those who knew her say she was known for making everyone happy and always helping anyone in need.

She enjoyed quilting, knitting, reading, music and laughter. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

Noreen is survived by her children and their spouses, Joyce and Tom Fleming of Bend, Louis and Judy Nagy of Port Orchard, Wash., Don and Sandy Nagy of La Grande and Ron and April Nagy of Nampa, Idaho; her sister, Orpha and her husband, Vern Pieper, of La Grande; and several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sana.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in care of Loveland Funeral Chapel.
