Nettie Marie Snowberger

Nettie Marie Snowberger, age 77, of La Grande died Thursday, October 6, 2005 at her home. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley with Pastors Loyd Hoke and Raymond Bates of the Sonrise Free Methodist Church officiating. Private interment will be at the Grandview Cemetery.

Mrs. Snowberger was born on January 23, 1928, the daughter of Ray and Allie Curtis Ring in McPherson, Kansas. On May 30, 1948 she married Kenneth M. Snowberger in McPherson, Kansas. They moved to La Grande in 1973. She loved teaching children of Christ and served as Den Mother, Brownie Leader, Vacation Bible School teacher and Sunday school teacher. Her family was very important to her and she was a soft spoken and caring person who accepted everyone without judgment.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Snowberger of La Grande; children, Diane Smith of Wichita, Kansas, David Snowberger of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Kathy Snowberger of Bend, Patricia Downing of Hermiston, Daniel Snowberger of Tracy, California and Larry Snowberger of Port Angeles, Washington; sister, Lillian Holler of McPherson, Kansas; 22 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and other relatives and friends. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Sonrise Free Methodist Building Fund in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850.
