Nancy Ann Melland

Nancy Ann Melland, 64, of La Grande, died Sept. 24 at her home. No services are planned at this time.

Nancy was born Jan. 5, 1945, to Clifford "Dutch" and Theodosia (Shinn) Winings in La Grande. She was raised and educated in Enterprise, moved to Heppner in the late '60s, and then to La Grande in the late '70s.

She married Jack Melland July 3, 1964, in Enterprise. She loved fishing at Wallowa Lake and always looked forward to their annual fishing trips to Alaska. She was an accomplished oil paint artist, mostly of local wildlife and local scenery. In the last few years, she became very interested in woodcarving.

She is survived by her husband, Jack of La Grande, and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Clifford "David" Winings.
