Myrtle M. Johnson

Myrtle M. Johnson, age 96, of Gentry, Arkansas and formerly of Union, died January 1, 2003 at Northwest Medical Center in Arkansas.


A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cove Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Johnson was born on November 4, 1906, the daughter of Bob and Elizabeth Lewis George. On May 24, 1925 she married Meek Henry Johnson in Arkansas. They moved from Arkansas to Union in 1953 where Mr. Johnson worked for several of the local diaries. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1985. Mrs. Johnson belonged to the Baptist Church.


Survivors include her children, Floyd Johnson of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, DeeWayne "Sonny" and Mary Jane Johnson of Cove, Geneveve and Loyd Johnston of Springdale, Arkansas, Unalea and Charles of Springdale, Arkansas and Geneva and Larry Burford of Union; brother and sister-in-law, Damon and Dora George of Springdale, Arkansas; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. A daughter, Bernice Johnston, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
