Mildred Maude Winters

January 29, 1905 — March 12, 2004

Mildred Maude Winters, age 99, of La Grande, died Friday, March 12, 2004 at her home. At her request there will be no public service. Burial will be held at the Hillcrest Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Winters was born on January 29, 1905, the daughter of Lyman and Stella Weeks in Pleasanton, Nebraska. The family moved to La Grande in 1910 and she graduated from La Grande High School. On June 3, 1926 she married Ray Winters in La Grande. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1966.

Mrs. Winters was a member and Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed traveling the world in her younger years.

Survivors include her brother and his wife, Harold and Ursula Weeks of Denver, Colorado; sister-in-law, Alaire Fagerstrom of Sisters; niece, Janet Wood of Sisters; nephew, Donald Weeks of Pahoa, Hawaii; and other relatives and friends.
