Mildred "Sis" B. Morris

Mildred B. "Sis" Morris, 88, of Walla Walla and formerly of Union, died Jan. 17 at Providence St. Mary Medical Center.

A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dixie Cemetery. Pastor Cary Fry of the Eastgate Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate. In case of inclement weather, the service will be at the Dixie Grange Hall. Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt in Walla Walla is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred was born June 26, 1920, to Ralph and Mary Belle Butler Lindsey in La Junta, Colo. She married Buril Morris Feb. 2, 1936, in La Junta. They came to the Vancouver area in 1943, then moved to Dixie in 1944. Their family lived in several places including the Union area from 1967 until moving back to the Walla Walla area in 2003.

Mildred was a homemaker and a rancher during her lifetime. She attended and participated in shows for The Blue Mountain Old Time Fiddlers Association playing guitar, piano and singing. She enjoyed traveling with her husband after retirement and going to Colorado and Oklahoma to visit relatives.

She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Easley of Walla Walla; four sons, Howard Morris of Irrigon, Sid Morris of Independence, Lee Morris of Boise and Chet Morris; two brothers, Archie Lindsey and Bob Lindsey, both of Walla Walla; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Margaret; her husband, Buril; one brother, Chuck; and one sister, Betty Rae.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Mountain Old Time Fiddlers Association in care of Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles-Military Road in Walla Walla.
