Mila Dodson

Mila Dodson, 92, of Corvallis and formerly of La Grande died September 28, 2004. A memorial service was held today in Corvallis. Her ashes will be scattered on Table Mountain according to her wishes.

Mrs. Dodson was born March 16, 1912 in Czechoslovakia and came to America when she was 18. She married J.B. Dodson and performed in the opening ceremonies of the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles with a dance and gymnastics group.

She enjoyed sunsets, nature, dogs, growing roses, fishing and backpacking in the Wallowa Mountains. She always had a smile, a helpful hand and a word of cheer for others. She quickly captured the hearts of all those who knew her.

Survivors include children, Tim Dodson of Albany and Laury Bartlett of Corvallis; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; Her husband and a son, David, died earlier.
