Michael Louis Warren

Michael L. Warren, formerly of La Grande, died October 5, 2022 at his home in San Marcos, Texas at the age of 34.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 19th beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the National Guard Armory on 12th Street in La Grande.

Private interment will be at the Grandview Cemetery Veterans Circle.

Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center in La Grande.

Michael Louis Warren was born on February 8th, 1988 in Pendleton, the second son of Mark and Carol (DuBosch) Warren.  They lived in La Grande where Michael attended schools, graduating with the La Grande High School class of 2006.  As a child he was a regular attender at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

In 2005, Michael followed his father and brother in military service, enlisting as a Cavalry Scout in the Army National Guard. During his enlistment, he served in several roles, including a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He particularly enjoyed his time working as an instructor for the EOU ROTC program and instructing at the National Guard Regional Training Institute. After graduating from EOU with a Bachelor's degree in History, he attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as an Infantry Officer. More recently, Michael was hired by Amazon. He worked as a manager at multiple locations, helped to stand up a new facility in Florida, and was working as an area manager for a distribution center at the time of his passing.

Michael was known for his sharp, but dry, sense of humor and his love of dogs, especially German Shepherds, especially HIS German Shepherd, Echo.

Surviving relatives include his mother, Carol Ann Warren, brothers, Ryan and Christopher (Wife Rachael, children Nathaniel & Vivian), and his paternal grandmother, Wanda Davies, all of La Grande.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Mark Warren in 2004.
