Michael David Rutherford was born October 31, 1950 in Carroll, Iowa to Sarah Ann “Fauntella” (Jones) Rutherford and Donald Robert Rutherford.
On July 15, 1969 he married Susan Gayle Clark in La Grande, Oregon. To this union two children were born, a son, Scott Michael Rutherford and a daughter Krissa Suzanne Rutherford Doud.
Michael is survived by wife Susan, of 55 years and son Scott, both of Elgin; daughter Krissa and husband Cyle Doud of Damascus, Oregon; grandson Tyler Steven Taal and wife Michelle Johnson Taal and a great grandson Christopher Michael Taal, of Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho; a sister Sandra Kay Rutherford of Elgin; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald, an older brother Alan, mother Fauntella and three infant siblings.
Michael died Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at his home in Elgin at the age of 74.
