Michael G. Hartman, age 64, went home to live with his Lord and Saviour on September 11, 2003.
Mike was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 27, 1939 and at the age of 7 his family moved to Salem, Oregon.
Mike served 4 years in the U.S. Navy.
On May 6, 1963 Mike and Elaine Ricker were married. They have 2 children, Cheryl Lindsoe and Jill Faith.
In 1967 Mike accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour and truly loved serving the Lord and reading his Bible.
In 1971 Mike and his family moved to Fairbanks, Alaska to open a home for foster children. Mike worked for Northland Wood Products for 18 years and was their General Manager for several years.
Not only did they reside in Fairbanks but also several remote areas in Alaska. Mike was an avid bush pilot and loved to hunt and fish with his friends and family. One of his greatest pleasures was gold mining in the Alaska bush and he always loved a good round of golf with his friends.
In 1998 with the onset of cancer, Mike and Elaine moved to Kirkland, Washington. During his time there Mike exerted much time and energy into research and has obtained several Patents.
Mike is survived by his wife of 40 years, their children and their spouses, Cheryl and Blake Lindsoe of Eagle River, Alaska and their children, Mikela, Zaine, Cria and Slade; Jill and Dayne Faith of Kirkland, Washington and their children, Chad, Trenton and Braden; their foster daughter and her husband, Florine and Carl Benson of Fairbanks, Alaska and their children, Michael, John, Karl, Luke and Karline.
Mike is also survived by his sister and her husband, Dorothy and Carl Judd of Salem, Oregon.
Services will be held at 3pm on September 17, 2003 at Bleitz Funeral Home in Seattle, Washington.
Remembrances may be made to Evergreen Hospices, Swedish Hospital or the VA Hospital
