Merrill Shuyler Blacker

Merrill Shuyler Blacker, age 93, died Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at Mt. Diablo Hospital, Concord, California. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2004 at 10:00 am at Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Blacker was born on January 13, 1911 at Ramo Flat in Union County to Schuyler and Mary Wilda (Moore) Blacker. On May 2, 1934 he married Myrtus Helen Glenn at Weiser, Idaho, a marriage of 53 years. They moved to California in 1936 where they lived until 1972 when he retired from U.S. Steel Corp in Pittsburg, California and returned to Oregon.

Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Davenport and Lynda Schwitters-Morell, both of Antioch, California.
