Melody Lenore Friendly Bleck, 74, of Coos Bay and formerly of La Grande died Oct 12. A private family graveside service will he conducted at a later date at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Coos Bay.

Mrs. Bleck was born Feb 10, 1930,in La Grande to Friendly Ray and Grace Virginia Chelf Barnes. She graduated from La Grande High School in 1948, and on June 8,1952, she married George James Bleck. She and her husband both worked for West Coast Telephone and lived in various towns in Oregon and Washington. They returned to La Grande around 1961. In 1965 they moved for the last time to Coos Bay. She visited La Grande in 1998 for her 50th high school reunion.

Survivors include children, Beverly Przybylski of Battle Ground Wash., Becky Bleck and Jeff Bleck, both of Coos Bay; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Penny Hollinger of Texas. Her husband died in 1985.
