Mavis Balfour

Mavis Balfour, 86, of Pendleton and formerly of La Grande, died Feb. 8 at Ashley Manor. Pendleton Pioneer Chapel, Folsom-Bishop, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 2, 1924, to Carl and Helen (Lewis) Eckland at Sedalia, Mo.

She grew up in Union and Baker City but spent most of her life in La Grande. She moved to Pendleton in 2009.

Survivors are her son, Don Robinson of Pendleton; daughter, Carla Young of Pendleton; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her long-time partner, Jerry Foster.
