Mary "Doris" Wyatt

July 23, 1927 — December 5, 2004

Mary "Doris" Wyatt, loving and devoted wife and mother, died Sunday,December 5, 2004 at a local care facility. She was 77. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 10, 2004 at 1:00 pm at LDS Stake Center, 12th Street And Gekeler Lane, with Bishop George Chadwick conducting. Dedication of the grave will be follow at Grandview Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

Doris was born on July 23, 1927, the daughter of the late John Joseph and the late Emily Etta (Halverson) Millard in Oakley, ID. On November 18, 1949 she married Irvin "Dale" Wyatt in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They moved to La Grande in 1951 and made their home there for the next 53 years.

Doris was a life long, involved member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and served in many callings and positions. She was a devoted wife who faithfully supported her husband in all of his many duties and activities and also provided a loving and peaceful home for her children and grandchildren. Although naturally soft spoken, Doris had a kind and loving heart and had a powerful influence over her husband, children and grandchildren. She liked to be busy and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking and cooking. She had many dear friends who helped fill her last years with happy times.

Survivors include one son and four daughters and their spouses: Millard Wyatt of Salt Lake City UT, Marilyn and Gerald Griffin of Rexburg, ID, Kathryn and Robert McOmber of Farmington, UT, Kristine and Ray Baum of Salem, OR, Ellen Wyatt of La Grande, OR. Sister of one brother: Robert Millard of Los Angeles, CA, Seventeen Grandchildren; Two Great Grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997 and siblings, Hal Millard, Allen Millard, Ernie Millard, Baby Richard Millard and Dorothy Henderson.
