Marvin Charles Miller, 85, of Caldwell, Idaho, and formerly of Elgin, died Jan. 16 at home with his family at his bedside.
Funeral services were held and burial took place at the Idaho Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
He was born Aug. 4, 1924, to Charles and Lillie Miller in Imperial, Neb. He attended schools in Nebraska and Idaho and joined the U.S. Navy in 1944.
He married Shirley Mae Martin, July 21, 1947, in Vale. He attended Northwest Nazarene College and was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene. He pastored many churches, including in Elgin.
He also pastored two churches for the Bible Missionary Church, and retired from the ministry in 1989. Marvin's favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing and flying single-engine airplanes and restoring Model T Ford cars.
Marvin cherished the visits of his children and grandchildren at his bedside during his long illness. Those who knew him say Marvin was a man who walked with God and passionately shared his faith with congregations and individuals. They say he was also a man of prayer.
Marvin is survived his wife of 62 years, Shirley; three children, Marilyn Yee of Boise, Marvin and his wife, Angie, of Nampa, Carolyn and her husband, Thomas Travis; of Vancouver, Wash.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Orval Lee Miller; and two grandchildren, infant Andrea Lin Yee and Brian Chandler.
