Marshall Floyd Billick, age 59, of Cove, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at his home. A funeral will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Island City. Burial will be at the Cove Cemetery.
Marshall was born on January 23, 1951, the son of Robert Howard and Vesta Myrle (Sargent) Billick in Eugene, Oregon. He was educated in Elkton, Oregon and attended both Oregon State University and University of Oregon. He earned Masters of Science Degrees in both Mediation and Business Management. He worked in the logging industry and worked for the Lawson Tool Company in Alaska, selling equipment to logging and fishing camps throughout that state. In the spring of 2005 he moved to the Grande Ronde Valley.
Marshall was a member of Oregon Green Free and was a Master Gardener. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing, bird hunting, camping, trap shooting and clamming and crabbing on the coast. He loved being on the river or the ocean and was a life-long learner. On March 9, 2010 he married Christine Anne Steckly in Cove.
Survivors include his wife, Christine of Cove; children, Sarah Billick of Estacada and Seth Billick of Lakeview; sister, Patty Harrison of Eugene and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
