Marjorie Ann Bartlett

August 23, 1939 — May 26, 2008

Marjorie Ann Bartlett, age 68, of La Grande, died May 26th in her home, surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30th with Phil Burling from the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses will be officiating.

Marjorie was born on August 23, 1939 to Ralph and Eula (Bircher) Trow in Elma, Washington. The family moved to La Grande when she was ten years old. On August 23, 1959 she married James William Bartlett in La Grande and soon thereafter started their family, residing in the Union County area. She was exceedingly proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, boasting about them often. She showed her love for her family by providing for them the things they needed, taking pride in her cooking, baking, canning and home-making abilities. On her downtime she enjoyed working in her yard and garden, spending time with her family and studying the bible.

She was a hard working woman who appreciated the simple things in life, and was never afraid to get her hands dirty. She kept herself involved in the lives of her friends and family, never missing an opportunity to be a part of things. She never knew a stranger and was extremely generous, always putting great effort towards helping those in need. She was a dedicated member of her religion, had strong faith in her God and shared her beliefs with others often. When she was younger she was very active in door to door ministry. She was loved deeply by her family and friends.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Robin and Marci Bartlett, Rodney and Gina Bartlett, Rhonda and Bill Sain, Renee and Jack Moseley, Randy and Erika Bartlett and Rochelle and Justin Kruse, all of La Grande; 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Virginia Marcum of Portland, Kenny Trow of Portland and Larry Trow of Newberg; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James "Bill" Bartlett on January 3, 1994.
