Marietta Lorene Dodds

Marietta Lorene Dodds, 81 of La Grande, died July 10 of natural causes at a local care center.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Loveland Funeral Chapel.

Marietta was born April 19, 1927, to Carl and Lila Preston Keller in La Grande and graduated from high school in 1944.

Marietta was married to William Rudd in 1945 and they later divorced. She married Bill Dodds on May 14, 1964.

Marietta worked as a maid at the Greenwell Hotel, the Broken Arrow and the Stardust. Her hobbies included spending time with her family, working on her flower garden, camping and fishing. Marietta loved the beach and all the activities done there such as crabbing and hunting for sea shells.

She is survived by sons, Michael Rudd of Denver and Paul Rudd of La Grande; daughters, Susan Ping of Helena, Mont., and Leora Garcia of Ripon, Calif.; stepchildren, Beth and Norman Dodds; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Keller of Tacoma, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marietta was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and her parents.
