Marian Carol Nolan

Marian Carol Nolan, age 83, of La Grande, died January 3, 2017 at her home. A service will be announced in the spring time. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center. Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the Presbyterian Church.

Marian was born on December 12, 1933, the daughter of Ganson and Nellie (Garnet) Stutt in Buffalo, New York. She graduated from Kenmore High School and later married Joseph Nolan. She worked as a LPN on the east coast, even working in the hospital where she was born, Milard-Fillmore Hospital. She and Joseph lived in various places in the east, especially Ohio. They were associated with the Friends Church and moved to Oregon to help create a church in Oregon City. They moved to La Grande 20 years ago. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and made over 500 caps for children in Romania.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Nolan of La Grande; children, Timothy Sean Nolan of Milwaukie and Joanna Christine Klier of Lake Oswego; sister, Marna J. Smith of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren, Matthew Klier and Destiny Nolan.
