Marguarite Steele

Marguarite Steele, age 89, formerly of La Grande, died July 21, 2003 in Crestview, Florida. Family interment was held on October 3, 2003 at the Summerville Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Steele was born on August 21, 1913 in Ellensburg, Washington, one of four children. In 1931 she married Harry Steele, Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1987. In 1999 she moved from La Grande to Connecticut to be with her daughter and later moved to Florida to be with her son.

Mrs. Steele was a long time member of the Eagles and lacked just a month of being a 40 year secretary of the Eagle's Lodge. She was an avid seamstress and accomplished many embroidery projects. She loved making hand made gifts to give at Christmas time. She was very loving to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Harry and Linda Steele of Nevada, Gordon and Alfa Steele of Florida and Margie and Lee Bishop of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
