From Juliaetta the Racicot family moved to Pilot Rock, Oregon. Following ten years in Pilot Rock, Margaret and her family moved back to Idaho, living in Deary. For the last three years, Margaret made her home in La Grande, Oregon near her daughter.

Throughout her life, Margaret was a devoted Christian woman. She sang in many church choirs, was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking. Each year while her husband served as the Deary High School principal from 1975 to 1986, Margaret cooked the Senior Breakfast for the graduating Senior class.
