Margaret R. French, 85, of Prineville and formerly of La Grande, died Feb. 26.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Stearns Cemetery in Talent.
Margaret was born April 14, 1923, to Alvah and Cecile (Anson) Dodson in Estacada. She married Robert Redhead in 1942 in Weiser, Idaho. He preceded her in death in 1964. She later married Marson French on July 8, 1971, in Reno, Nevada. He also preceded her in death in 1986.
Margaret graduated from La Grande High School in 1941. She lived in Gold Hill and in the Rogue Valley area all her adult life. She worked as a production supervisor for Harry and David Corp. for 45 years, retiring in 1998.
She lived in Glendale, Calif., until moving to the Rogue Valley in 1949. She moved to Prineville from La Grande in July 2008. Margaret loved to garden, raising flowers, especially roses. She worked as an inspector of roses for Jackson & Perkins Roses in Medford for many years.
She loved sewing and made lots of her own clothes and mended for her friends. She enjoyed traveling all over the Northwest. She also square-danced two to three times a week.
She is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife, Edna Redhead, of Prineville and Lynn and his wife, Jodi Redhead, of Medford; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Redhead; second husband; Marson French; and one sister.
