Malvina Blanche Gunn, 92, formerly of Imbler, died Sept. 11 at home of Parkinson's Disease. A graveside service will begin at noon Wednesday at the Summerville Cemetery. Fir Lawn Memorial Center in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
Malvina was born May 2, 1917, to Leonard and Belle Billings in Imbler. She married William E. Gunn June 17, 1961. The marriage was solemnized later in Idaho Falls Temple.
Malvina was an elementary school teacher. She retired in 1980 from Portland public schools. She received her master's degree from Eastern Oregon. She coached basketball and volleyball at Imbler before going to Portland.
She enjoyed gardening, playing golf, music and people. She loved knowing people in the Grande Ronde Valley and loved the Blazers pro basketball team.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities with the youth of the church.
She is survived by her husband, William, and many nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her son, William Leonard Lively; stepdaughter, Carol K. Larrance of Svenson; sisters, Wilma Rhoades of Clinton, Utah, Gladys Anderson of La Grande and an infant sister, Leah Billings.
