Mabel Rose Roach, age 94, of La Grande and formerly of Grant County and Pendleton, died March 13, 2005 at her home. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Private interment will be held later in Pendleton.
Mrs. Roach was born on January 27, 1911, the daughter of Holly and Dilly (Cramer) Leathers in Hardman, Oregon. In 1930 she married Charles Roach and they ranched in Grant County until retirement when they moved to Pendleton. In 1997 she moved to La Grande to be near family. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and the Grange. She enjoyed sewing and fussing over people, cooking and was an excellent bread maker.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Carol Warren of La Grande; three great grandsons, Christopher, Michael and Ryan; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Her husband and children, Charles "Brownie" Roach and Joan DuBosch preceded her in death as well as siblings, Audry, Carl, Roy, Lloyd, Wayne, Archie and Grace.
Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Mrs. Roach to St. Anne's Guild or St. Peter's Episcopal Church in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
