Mabel May Knutson

Mabel May Knutson, age 95, of Elgin died October 27, 2004 at her home. Mrs. Knutson was born January 6, 1909 to Bertie and Sara Hurn Smith in Sunnyside, Washington. She graduated from high school in Prosser, Washington and moved to the Grande Ronde Valley in 1997 from Dodson. She was a self-taught piano player and played at community dances. She enjoyed horse races, lotto, greyhound races and cats.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Vivian Sanders of Elgin; sister, Vivian Smith of White Salmon, Washington; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
