Lynn L. Gregory

Lynn Gregory, age 68, of Elgin, died Thursday at his home. A service will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elgin Christian Church. Committal and interment will follow at the Elgin Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.

Mr. Gregory was born on July 12, 1939, the son of Theo and Sylvia (Lewis) Gregory in La Grande. He was educated in La Grande until his senior year when the family moved to Walla Walla. After graduating from high school he served with the Special Forces of the United States Navy. On September 25, 1961 he married Marie Williams. After his honorable discharge they moved to Athena and in 1968 they moved to Elgin. He worked for Boise Cascade doing various jobs, his last running a skidder saw.

He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed woodworking and belonged to a Good Sam Club. He loved his kids and grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Marie of Elgin; sons and their spouses, Doug Gregory and Colleen of Elgin; Troy and Sherry Gregory of Post Falls, Idaho and Kevin and Sheila Gregory of Elgin; brother, Bob Gregory of La Grande; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Helen Gregory.
