Luster Theodore "Ted" Meyers

Luster Theodore "Ted'' Meyers, 73, of Winnemucca, Nev., and formerly of La Grande, died March 11 at a care facility after a long illness. A graveside service is planned for 3 p.m. March 20 at the Winnemucca Cemetery. A celebration of life reception will follow at the Double SS Bar and Saloon.

Ted was born Oct. 7, 1936, in Detroit, Mich., to Violet (Johnson) and Shelby Meyers. He was married to the late Kathryn Tsiatsos Meyers.

In 2005, Ted found several cousins and family on the East Coast. The following year he found several brothers and sisters in Ohio.

Survivors include his children, Violet Thomsen of La Grande, Chris Meyers of Albany and Jeff Meyers of Tillamook; stepson, Rob Meyers of Reno, Nev.; and 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Diane Powell; and granddaughter, Chantel Meyers.
