Lula Estelle Harlow

October 22, 1908 — October 9, 2003

Lula Estelle Harlow, age 95, of La Grande, died Thursday at a local care facility. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery with Pastor Gary Hood officiating. Viewing will be held on Monday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Harlow was born on October 22, 1908, the daughter of Lewis and Lucille (Strange) Ansell in Boise, Idaho. She attended schools in Idaho and on July 3, 1929 she married Price Harlow in La Grande. She worked as a clerk for various retail stores and lived in Seattle before moving to La Grande in 1980. She was a member of Cherry Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Cove. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and working outdoors with her garden and flowers.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Elam of La Grande; son, Dale Price of Hawaii; grandson, Scott Evanston of Alaska; sister, Gerry Metcalf; brother, Richard Ansell of La Grande; and other relatives and friends. Her husband, sisters, Phyllis Cochran and Harriet Nygord and brother, Phillip Ansell preceded her in death.
