Luella Rose Buck

LuElla Rose Buck, age 93, of La Grande and Union, died April 29, 2012 at her home at Wildflower Lodge. A funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande. Committal and interment will follow at the Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the GRH Hospice.

LuElla was born on June 15, 1918, the daughter of Jess and Clara (Weihn) Mooney in Elgin, Nebraska. On May 7, 1938 she married Ivan Buck in Elgin, Nebraska. They moved to La Grande from Nebraska in 1947 and later moved to Union. Ivan preceded her in death in 1989. She was a great wife and mother and loved caring for people and became very fond of the girls at Wildflower. She enjoyed embroidery and her family.

Survivors include her daughters and spouses, Betty and Thomas Scott of Yuma, Shirley Alexander of Union and Judy and Donald Kenison of Heppner; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Leona Mooney, Alfrieda Johnson, Milford Mooney, Iola Adkins, Melvin Mooney and Donald Mooney.
