Lois Siens

Lois J. Siens, 77, of La Grande died Sept. 21 at Grande Ronde Hospital. At her request there will be no services.

Mrs. Siens was born Feb. 25, 1927, to Grover and Mathilda Brookhiser Willson in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from high school in Des Moines and married Glenard Siens on July 31, 1949, in Morning Sun, Iowa. She lived for a time in the Mojave Desert, where she ran a gas station, and later moved to Eugene, where she ran another station. She moved to the Union area in the late 1980s, and then to La Grande about 10 years ago. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, fishing and going on rides with friends.

Survivors include two brothers, James Willson of Burlington, Iowa, and William Willson of West Burlington, Iowa; sisters, Lucille Horn of Mediapolis, Iowa, and Anna Comstock of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; and close friends and caregivers Johanna and Jerry Carr of Elgin. Her husband died in April 2000.
