Lois Mabel Forte, age 85, of La Grande, died November 22, 2013 at her home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses, 1511 26th Street, La Grande. Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Note: For World Wide Work. Lois was born on June 24, 1928, the daughter of Frank James and Hazel (Woods) Bogart in Camas, Washington. She graduated from Commerce-Cleveland High School in Portland. She worked in the food service industry as a cook for 35 years and then spent 20 years in the home health care industry, until she was 80 years of age. She moved to La Grande from Bend in 2001. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed gardening, reading and crafts.
Survivors include her children, Robert Godfrey of Gresham, Cheryl Robinson of Cove, Debra Hardie of Apple Valley, Minnesota and Janis Laisner of La Grande; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and sisters and one daughter.
