Linda Ann Beeson

Linda Ann Beeson, age 59, of La Grande, died Friday, December 13, 2002, at her home following a very extended illness.


The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley with Sally Wiens officiating. Committal and interment will follow at the Island City Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Beeson was born on December 10, 1943, the daughter of Leman Allen and Mary Alice (Porter) Goodwin in La Grande. She spent the first ten years of her life at the logging camp at Starkey before the family moved to La Grande. She graduated with the La Grande High School class of 1962. On December 22, 1963 she married Thomas F. Beeson in La Grande. Mr. Beeson was in the United States Navy and she became a Navy wife and they made their home in various communities before returning to La Grande in July of 1989 from Chula Vista, California.


Mrs. Beeson was a member of the Beta Theta Sorority and was a devoted wife and mother, participating in her children's activities despite her illness. She enjoyed crafting and cards of all kinds, including bridge and pinochle.


Survivors include her husband, Thomas Beeson of La Grande; children, Steven Beeson of New York City, Brian Beeson of Chula Vista, California, Susan Herbster of Chula Vista and Bradley Beeson of La Grande; six grandchildren; sister, Norma Flanagan of La Grande; brother, Dennis Goodwin of Condon, Oregon; step-brother, Dan Brown of La Grande; and other relatives and friends.
