Linda Lee Anderson, age 57, formerly of Elgin, died Thursday, December 30, 2004 at her home in Oroville, California of natural causes. A celebration will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley with Pastor Bill Miller officiating. A private interment will be held at the Elgin Cemetery.
Linda Lee Anderson was born on July 9, 1947 the daughter of Glenn B. and Louise (Bowden) Long in La Grande. Linda spent her early childhood on the family ranch near Elgin until the family moved to La Grande for a short time before settling in West Linn, Oregon where Linda graduated from West Linn High School with the class of 1967. On August 15, 1981 Linda married Kent O. Anderson in Coeur d Alene, Idaho. Together the couple traveled the world as Kent's job took them from place to place. They lived in Pasco, Washington; Nashville, Tennessee; Florida; New York; Connecticut; Mexico and the West Coast before settling in Oroville, California 2002. Linda was one of the first open heart surgery patients at the age of six years old and was a past Vice President of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in Richland, Washington. Linda enjoyed arts, crafts, playing the accordion, square dancing, camping, fishing, the outdoors, and her two cats, Cally and Jo Jo.
She is survived by her husband, Kent O. Anderson of Oroville, California; brother and his spouse, Rocky and Cheryl Long of Oregon City, Oregon; sister-in-laws, Karen M. and Ila Anderson of Chehalis, Washington; brother-in-laws and their spouses, Ronald and Pat Anderson of Pasco, Washington, Neil and Betty Anderson of Kenniwick, Washington, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
