Lewis Enoch Jones, 95, of Nampa, Idaho and formerly of union, died of natural causes January 26, 2006 in Nampa. Mr. Jones was buried January 31, 2006 in the IOOF Cemetery in The Dalles.

He was born March 5, 1910, to Charles Lewis and Ruth Etta Kenworthy Jones in Esbon, Kansas. He attended school in various places and started working a man's job at the age of 10. Working with animals and farming took him to several places in the Northwest. He logged with horses, purchasing his first chainsaw in 1944 - it weighed 135 pounds and had a 7-foot chain.

Mr. Jones married Delfa Pearl Barzee September 24, 1930 in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While he lived in union, he worked for Alva Orton, Lorren Harris and later leased a 1,700 acre ranch from Othello Lay in Telocaset. He also worked at the North Powder sawmill where he purchased a home while managing the Lay ranch. He also managed the Mike Asper place for a short time. Mr. Jones was a temple worker at the Seattle and later Portland and Boise temples for more than 12 years. He also served a mission for the LDS church to the Umatilla Indian Reservation and was a dedicated convert at age 17. After his first wife died, Mr. Jones married Glendella Jane McNee in The Dalles on August 11, 1984. He will be remembered as an honest, kind and hard working man who loved his animals and trained them to obey, his family and friends said.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Clark and Lucy Jones of Coos Bay, Neil and Shirley Jones of Saratoga Springs, Utah, Ellen and Don Kohler of La Grande, Cheryl and Jim Clausen of Nampa, Idaho, Freidle Jones of Warden, Washington; two brothers, Lester H.
