Leonard Norman Campbell

July 17, 1917 — April 16, 2006

Leonard Norman Campbell, age 88, of La Grande, died April 16, 2006 at his home. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Campbell was born on July 17, 1917, the son of William and Susie (Baum) Campbell in Lisco, Nebraska. The family later moved to La Grande and he graduated from La Grande High School. He served with the United States Army and after his honorable discharge he moved to Pilot Rock and worked at the mill for a time before becoming self-employed as a carpenter. He later moved returned to La Grande and worked on many remodeling jobs over the years. He was a former member of the Eagles and he loved to take trips to Reno and he enjoyed hunting and dancing.

Survivors include his children, Billie and Ross Adler of Marysville, Washington and Barbara Berry-MacDougall of Helena, Montana; granddaughters, Tamera Davis, Carla Davis and Asonja Hyatt; great granddaughter, Desiree Davis; brother, Herb Campbell of Elgin; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Campbell and his companion of over 20 years, Mildred Baker.
