Leo Ernest Houston

January 6, 1961 — August 29, 2011

Leo Ernest Houston, 50, of La Grande resident, died August 29 at his home.

A service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande. A potluck will follow at the American Legion. Private Interment will be at the Grandview Cemetery.

Leo was born January 6, 1961 in La Grande to Delbert and Marie (Potts) Houston. He attended schools in La Grande graduating from La Grande High School with the class of 1979.

After high school he worked at several jobs then later moved to California for several years where his favorite place to go was the beach. He later returned to La Grande, met and married Lynn M. Kincudea. They had two girls, Nichole and Kayla Houston, and later divorced. He worked at Walmart, and as a cook at Flying J and Long Branch. He loved going for rides, fishing, camping and crafts. He was an avid model train collector.

Leo is survived by his high school sweetheart and companion, Angela Baird; mother, Marie Houston; brother, Donald Houston; sisters, Arlene Houston and Sharon McCollum; daughters, Nichole and Kayla Houston; all of La Grande and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Delbert Houston and an infant brother.

Contributions in memory of Leo may be made to the Oregon Diabetes Association or the Oregon Cancer Society in care of Daniels-Knopp, 1502 7th St., La Grande, OR 97850.
