Lenora May Holloway

January 24, 1937 — April 24, 2015

Lenora May Holloway, age 78, of La Grande, died April 24, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Baker City. A funeral will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels~Knopp Funeral & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande. A graveside service will follow at the Grandview Cemetery.

Lenora was born on January 24, 1937, the daughter of Arthur and Stella Mae Rathke in Brownsville, Washington. She went to school in Hermiston until her senior year in high school when she moved to La Grande where she graduated with the class of 1955. On January 24, 1955 she married James Holloway. They purchased Hill's Office Machines on Adams Avenue and operated it until moving the business to Cove Avenue and renaming it Standard Office Equipment. They operated it until retiring in 1986. She was a member of Assembly of God - New Life Center in La Grande. She and James were active with the Grande Ronde Bush Pilots for over 30 years. She enjoyed going to the mountains and camping. She liked to snorkel and fish and they enjoyed extensive traveling on their motorcycle.

Survivors include her husband, James Holloway of La Grande; children, James and Darci Holloway of La Grande and Jerra Bewley of Alexandria, North Dakota; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild;; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by daughter, Penny Holloway in 1982 and brother, Wayne Rathke.
