Lela Ellen Nash

Lela Ellen Nash, 68, of Cove, died Jan. 6 of cancer at home with her family and friends at her side.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cove Historical Episcopal Church, 1104 1⁄2 Church St. in Cove.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service and a potluck luncheon at the Cove Sportsman Club following the service.

Lela was born Feb. 6, 1941, to Campbell Aaron McCarty and Lula A. McCarty in Pasco. Lela had lived with her daughter, Mari Nash Brainerd, and family throughout her struggle with cancer.

Lela enjoyed camping and family time. Those who knew her say she was a country girl through and through. Lela loved ranch life, travel, music, crafts, friends and family gatherings and the simplicity of nature and all it had to offer. Those who knew her say she had a keen sense of humor.

Lela is survived by three daughters, Mari Nash Brainerd of Cove, Teena Nash of Portland and Jackie Nash Crewse of Calhoun, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
