Larry Keith Roberts, age 76, of Imbler, died July 5, 2007 at his home. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the La Grande Seventh-day Adventist Church. Private interment will be held at the Summerville Cemetery.
Larry was born on December 2, 1930, the son of Vern and Blanche Filis Roberts in Hammond, Indiana. He was raised in Eastern Oregon and was educated in Vale. He worked with local farmers and ranchers and participated in rodeo events. He served his country with the United States Air Force and later with the Oregon National Guard. He also worked in the logging industry
Larry married Annette Harbey on March 8, 1968 in Tacoma, Washington and they made their home in Imbler beginning in 1976. He was a member of the Elgin Seventh-day Adventist Church. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed Raider football.
Survivors include his wife, Annette of Imbler; children, Beverly Sanders of La Grande, Nancy and Cole Fields of La Grande, Laura and Al Fry of La Grande, Yolanda and Russ Conrad of Island City, John "Brian" and Arless Roberts of Wisconsin and Larry and Tanya Roberts of Elgin; eighteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; four brothers and five sisters and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
