Larry Robert Marks

Larry Robert Marks, age 77, of John Day and formerly of La Grande, died February 10, 2015 in John Day. At his request a graveside will be held at the Grandview Cemetery on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.. Memorials may be made to the Doernbecker Children's Hospital in Portland. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.

Larry was born on December 23, 1937, the son of Robert and Mary Marks in La Grande. He graduated from La Grande High School. He served with the United State Air Force and on February 28, 1957 in a Military Chapel service in Fort Worth, Texas, he married his neighbor, friend and sweetheart of many years, Carole Lee (Butterfield) Holman, who was also serving in the Air Force. Following military service, Larry was proud to serve 32 years with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and Natural Resources. He was honored March 20, 1993 with a retirement 'toast and roast', which was attended by many officials from all over the state and fellow workers in various areas to which he was assigned. He belonged to the Cove Sportsman Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his sons, Kory Marks, Kurt Marks and Kyle Marks; five grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
