Larry R. Kohler

Larry R. Kohler, 76, of McMinnville and formerly of Union County, died Dec. 3 at his home.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at McMinnville Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Public viewing will run from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Larry was born Feb. 14, 1933, the oldest of five boys. He was the son of Arnold John and Clarice Badger Kohler. Larry grew up in Eastern Oregon on a farm in Union County.

He married his high school sweetheart, Mildred "Charmaine" Lay , Dec. 30, 1952, in the LDS Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He attended OSU in Corvallis to become a pharmacist.

Larry was a bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and later served in other church service callings including being a patriarch for over 25 years.

Survivors are his wife, Charmaine; four children: Larry Ronald Kohler, Gregory Dean Kohler, Julie Charmaine Westbroek and David John Kohler; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
