Larry Flanagan

Larry Flanagan, age 71, of La Grande died Thursday, October 11, 2007 in Boise, Idaho. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street.

Larry was born in Wilbur, Washington on July 24, 1936. He grew up on a farm at the foot of Mt. Emily in the Grande Ronde Valley and has lived in this area most of his life. He worked at Boise Cascade for 46 years, retiring in 2002. He loved fishing, hunting and traveling. His last hunting trip was about two weeks ago. His last big trip was a cruise to Alaska.

Larry was always there to help family and friends. He was willing to run the movie camera for family functions. On fishing trips he cleaned, filleted the fish and usually got to cook them too. Larry loved playing cards and also loved playing with his little dogs.

He is survived by his much loved wife of fifty years, Norma; his son, Bruce and daughter-in-law of La Grande, Bruce and Dawna, and their children, Aaron and Chandra; his daughter of Sacramento, Amie, and her son, Travis; a daughter-in-law of Hilgard, Julie and her children, Kelsey, Kyran and Keesha; sisters of La Grande, June Woods and Kate Moore; many nieces and nephews and good friends. Preceding Larry in death were his parents, Bess and Aaron, sons Scott and Todd and two infants, one boy and one girl and his brother, Keith.

Donations may be made in Larry's memory to the Oregon Heart Association or the NRA in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
