Mrs. Silva was born May 4, 1939, in Sisters to Willis and Lorraine Patterson. They moved to Imbler, where she grew up, attended school and graduated in 1957. She enjoyed sports and was very athletic. She attended college in La Grande, then moved with her parents to Portland, where she attended secretarial school school.

There she met Airman Lee Silva. They married in August 1960. They had two children, Sheri and Kirk. They were married for 35 years and divorced in 1995. Mrs. Silva worked hard all her life, always taking good care of her children and their home. She spent most of her married life on a ranch and farm surrounded by a lot of pets. She loved dogs, cats, horses, goats and cows, just to name a few.

She was a loving wife and mother and also took care of grandparents in her home until their deaths in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Her most joyous moments were spent taking care of her grandchildren, which were the highlight of her life.

Mrs. Silva is survived by her ex-husband, Lee of Winston; daughter, Sheri Meyerholz and her husband, Jeff, of Canyon City; son, Kirk Silva of Bend; brothers and their wives, Jim and Neggie Patterson of Gresham, Doug Patterson and Tammy of Oregon City; and seven grandchildren.
