Laquietta Joy Like

Laquietta Joy Like, age 71 of Elgin, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at her home. A private graveside service will be held at the Elgin Cemetery with Bill Moses of the Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
Laquietta Joy Like was born on November 26, 1933, the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Viola (Freeze) Campo in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Laquietta was raised in Texas for most of her childhood. In December of 1959, she married Darrell Like in Houston, Texas. Together the couple lived in California and Washington before finally settling in the Grande Ronde Valley in 2000. Laquietta was employed with the Rainier State School of Washington where she worked as a duty officer with the disabled for 20 years until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed bingo, visiting with family and friends, shopping, and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Darrell Like of Elgin; children and their spouses, Audy Darren Like of Elgin, Roger Darrell and Lisa Anne Like of Graham, Washington, Gina Renee Matte of Elgin, Traci Olean Miller of Tacoma, Washington, Richard Blaine Like of Elgin, and Debra and Brenda Beesinger, both of Lubbock, Texas; twelve grandchildren, Crystal, Brandi, Roger, Shauna, Trevor, Kaylee, Tiffany, Cody, Suzie, Spencer, Jeremy, and Joshua; three great-grandchildren, Damian, Justin, and Darren; sisters, Christeen Deal and Sherry Wise of Elgin; brothers Neil Campo of Elgin and Corgain Campo of La Grande; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Two sisters, Jannette Pease and Charlene Board; and two brothers, AJ Campo and Darrel Campo all preceded her in death.
